I’ve been a composer for many years but wanted to expand on my knowledge, so in December I decided to sign up for an Orchestration degree course with Thinkspace. It’s going to be a tough challenge but it’s been a lot of fun so far and has helped me to reach the next plateau of learning in just two months.
For the first time I’m setting up cinematic-sized templates and shopping around for the perfect sound libraries (I’ll be demoing some favourite libraries and plug-ins over the coming months).
I’m also receiving some top orchestration tips from a respected Hollywood composer and orchestrator – worth the course fee alone!
This means that all of my production music will be getting reworked over the coming couple of years, plus I’ll be looking at building my IMDb profile with a few shorts, documentaries and low-budget movies.
