Biography
“Atheen is a composer, performer, independent cosmology researcher and writer. Her work spans original jazz-funk recordings, immersive cosmology shows, science fiction set in her own fictional universe and ongoing theoretical research into the structure of the cosmos”
Atheen is a versatile UK vocalist, keyboardist, songwriter, composer and producer. Her musical passion has always been based around Jazz-Funk / Fusion and her first six piece band performed songs by bands and artists such as The Brecker Brothers, Level 42, Stanley Clarke, Patrice Rushen, with a lineup of keys, vocals, bass, drums, guitar, percussion and sax.
Following this she formed a duo with singer Errol Tuitt called Back2Funk, that performed a lot of funky house tunes of the day and even shared the stage with Soul II Soul as their support. Relocating to London solidified her commitment to danceable, soulful music and her signing with Estaloka Records led to the release of a couple of funky house tracks on white label vinyl.
All the while, Atheen was expanding into production, writing and producing the backings for her solo and duo shows, creating tracks for other artists and honing her own sound. As the industry shifted, she took control by launching her own label, Modal Records and publishing company, Modal Publishing. Working out of her dedicated studio, she explores a range of musical styles, from her original love of Jazz-Funk and Fusion through to the irresistible energy of Acid Jazz, Funky House, Nu Disco, Jazz House and Jazzy Lofi vibes.
Her extensive collaborations include working with Jamiroquai stalwarts such as Matt Johnson and Derrick McKenzie, as well as contributions from awesome musicians such as Gary Barnacle, Johnny Thirkell and Nick Van Gelder. A longtime collaborator is old friend Gaz Rackham on bass, who has played on many of her tracks.
In late 2025, Atheen began developing what would become the Entropic Spacetime Field (ESF), a cosmological model proposing that the universe’s structure can be explained without dark matter or dark energy. What started as a thought experiment has grown into a sustained research programme, with eighteen papers published on Zenodo and active simulation testing using Python.
Her research has produced testable predictions about galaxy rotation curves, BAO structure and the relationship between Newtonian gravity and quantum-scale field dynamics.
Current projects:
