Science, Space & Imagination

Many of my writing projects draw inspiration from cosmology, emerging technologies and humanity’s relationship with the universe. From antigravity spacecraft and distant worlds to the social consequences of future discoveries, storytelling provides a way to explore ideas that extend beyond the boundaries of current science.

Original Fiction

A new, original science-fiction universe is in development, inspired by themes of exploration and discovery, with the human experience remaining at the heart of each story. The project combines speculative technology, future civilisations and scientific concepts drawn from my broader work on The Entropic Spacetime Field.

Fan Fiction

Writing fan fiction has been a fun exploration that has provided a valuable opportunity to develop storytelling skills, experiment with character-driven narratives and explore new creative directions – all inspired by favourite characters and stories from some wonderful writers. My first short was published on AO3 in 2026, marking the beginning of a new chapter.

Why I Write

1970s kids were born into an era that had been preceded by the moon landings. It was a time where technology was advancing fast and there was an air of excitement that was reflected in the cinema and TV offerings of the day. We grew up against a backdrop of synthesisers, home recording, the shuttle programme, video recorders, green screen special effects and it became a golden era for space and fantasy movies – they were incredibly creative and exciting times. Not only was I inspired by what I saw on screens large and small, but I also turned my attention to books, mainly to the master (arguably) of sci-fi himself – Sir Isaac Asimov. I first started reading his works at the age of 11 and the bulk of my early cosmological knowledge was learned via his fictional writings, especially his short stories centred around US Robotics and Mechanical Men, Inc. I then moved on to the Dune books of Frank Herbert, which remain a firm favourite to this day.
